The Redemptive Power of Walking with Raynor Winn
Venue: Acorn Theatre
Raynor Winn, walker and debut novelist, will be sharing her story: how she and her husband became homeless and why they decided to walk the South West coastal path.
Raynor will be talking about how walking the 630 miles helped her come to terms with losing her home of twenty years, and with the grief of her husband’s terminal diagnosis. She’ll cover the challenges of the walk, wild camping, what she learnt along the way and how being in nature allowed her to understand the grief that she was feeling.
Her debut novel, ‘The Salt Path’ is a life-affirming and inspirational true story about overcoming adversity, about the redemptive qualities of walking and nature, about survival, the meaning of ‘home’ and above all, about love.
