Alex Wade was born in west London, grew up in Devon and, after working as a lawyer in London, began a westward drift that led to living west Cornwall since 2007. Now based in Penzance, Alex has written non-fiction books on surfing and boxing, has been short-listed as sports feature writer of the year and writes regularly for various titles, including The Times, Times Literary Supplement, Guardian and Cornwall Today. Alex is also a libel lawyer, has sold TV sports rights in Albania, Georgia and Azerbaijan, and believes he is the first Englishman to have boxed in Albania since Lord Byron.
