Andrew Lanyon

Born 1947. Aged 11, Andrew won a camera in a comic competition but failed 11-plus. Worked for Stanley Kubrick and as assistant editor of Ambit Poetry Magazine.

Winner of film, painting and book awards. Inventor of a character who discovers art is a visually transmitted virus and who isolates integrity, marketing it as a paste.

‘Lanyon wears his learning lightly, all his disguises are a loose fit.’ Patrick Hughes

‘The world would be the poorer without the revelations that his books provide.’ Sir Alan Bowness

‘Not an author or a story-teller, he has written a trilogy in five parts.’ Tanya Peixoto.

Established in 2010, Penzance Literary Festival has grown into one of the UK's favourite festivals for authors and visitors.
