I was born and grew up in North Germany. In 1989 I came to Penzance as part of a twinning exchange group and during that first visit to Cornwall I met my husband. For many years I supplied articles about all kinds of news and events in West Cornwall and beyond to the daily newspaper of my former home town of Cuxhaven (the town is still twinned with Penzance!). I was the twin-town’s freelance “correspondent”, something I enjoyed. It was not until we moved to Carbis Bay five years ago and the children left home for university that I found the time and courage to write my first book.
