Colin Stringer

Colin Stringer was born in St. Ives but has come a long way since; all the way to Heamoor, via Huddersfield. After three successful shows at Gulval Mead, he moved up North to become a rock star in the all-Cornish, Anne Gwirder. Eighteen months and two unsuccessful shows later he moved back to Penzance and became a member of Jack Rabbit’s Party (this was another group, not a political faction). As a protest against the eighties, he put his guitar under the bed and left it there until 2006 when he formed The Venton Gimps. Ax was born.

Established in 2010, Penzance Literary Festival has grown into one of the UK's favourite festivals for authors and visitors.
