Jak Stringer

History Through the Looking Glass was set up in 2015 by two long-term residents of Penzance who love performance, love interesting places and love history. We bring you the history of West Cornwall as it might have been, using original sources – newspaper reports, journals and letters have all featured – but use our imaginations to fill in the gaps.

We are firmly in touch with reality and make clear what is, and isn’t documented. But we also believe that the imagination is a valid route to the truth, and in this spirit invite you to join us….

Jak Stringer is a Falmouth University Theatre Graduate, who has been involved in many diverse creative projects in Cornwall, which have gained her terrific reviews in publications ranging from NME to Cornwall Today. She is producer and presenter of Walking with Wilkie (“show of the week” in the Cornishman). Jak and Linda Camidge have worked as History through the Looking Glass, producing Jessie Borlase, A Life Well Lived, and Dylan Thomas in Cornwall (“show of the week” in the Cornishman).

Established in 2010, Penzance Literary Festival has grown into one of the UK's favourite festivals for authors and visitors.
