St Mary’s Church
Address: St Mary's Church, Chapel Street, Penzance
A church has stood on this headland since the 12th Century. The present church, which, was built in 1835. Our tower acts as a Waymark to the sea faring community. St Mary’s was re-ordered thirty years ago after a huge fire.
Traditional church music is very important here. The present grand organ comes from the university church in Oxford and is now undergoing major renovation.
The church is in constant use by musicians, artists, schools. We play host to a wide range of musical events throughout the year.
