Jacky Nowakowski

Jacky Nowakowski, presently a Principal Archaeologist with the Cornwall Archaeological Unit, Cornwall Council, has been working as a professional archaeologist in Cornwall for the past 30 years. A prehistorian, with considerable fieldwork experience across the county, the UK and abroad, Jacky was a member of the original West Penwith Survey team responsible for the detailed mapping of the landscapes discussed in Archaeology and Landscape at the Land’s End, Cornwall in the 1980s and 1990s.

Having lived in West Penwith for 17 years as a practicing field archaeologist and part-time lecturer in adult education, Jacky has a deep affectionate connection to the area and enjoys sharing her local knowledge as well as promoting the importance of how understanding the past not only enriches our present experiences and pleasure and appreciation of landscape, but how this may also inform its future.
